Recently, Prof. Yasunori NAKAYAMA in Nihon University was invited to visit WHIGG. During the visit, Yasunori NAKAYAMA did an investigation in the middle reach of Yangtze River and gave a special lecture on Japan's remote sensing research, remote monitoring of volcanic ash, temperature monitoring of Mount Fuji, flood monitoring and lakes environmental monitoring in East Asia. Researchers and graduate students from Environmental and Disaster Monitoring Laboratory made an extensive discussion with Yasunori. The both side discussed the exchange visits of personnel, cooperation in the project later.
Yasunori NAKAYAMA is an expert on remote sensing and geographic information systems. He is the former Head of the Department of Geography in Nihon University, and the distinguished expert of Japan Remote Sensing Centre. He has been doing collaborative research with WHIGG on the flood disaster monitoring, lakes environmental changes for nearly one decade.
