The Second Workshop on Superconducting Gravimetry (SG) was held in Taiwan, China from June 20 to 22, 2010.
The theme of the workshop covered fusion of superconducting, absolute and satellite gravimetry, tidal signals from and for gravity measurements, combination of SG data and other data for geodynamic and climate change study, and new applications of gravimetry in earth sciences. The workshop attracted more than 40 scholars from home and abroad. Academician XU Houze, Dr. LUO Shaocong and Dr. ZHOU Jiangcun from Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics attended the workshop.
Academician XU presented an academic report to introduce the progress of gravity satellite in China. Prof. LUO delivered a report titled Interpretation of the tidal gravity residuals during the 22 July 2009 total solar eclipse. Prof. ZHOU also made a report and introduced the latest scientific achievement by IGG. The workshop is held every two years, aiming at the promotion of SG research in Asia and the world.
