State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth’s Dynamics (SKLGED) was established at WHIGG on Nov. 25th 2011. More than 150 people attended the inaugural meeting of SKLGED, which includes Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), head of subcommittee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports of CPPCC, XU Guanhua, Deputy governor of People’s Government of Hubei Province, GUO Shenglian, Academician ZENG Qingcun, XU Houze, JIN Zhenming, YANG Yuanxi and LUO Jun, and many scholars from universities and institutes. The inaugural meeting was presided by the director of WHIGG, Prof. SUN Heping and the deputy director of WHIGG, Prof. XIONG Xiong.
Leaders and scholars who attended the meeting placed great hope on the important role of SKLGED in solving scientific problems of geophysics, geodesy, aeronautics, astronautics and major scientific projects in future.
