Professor Araya visits WHIGG
At the invitation of the Geodetic and Geophysical Technique Laboratory, Prof. Akito Araya of Tokyo University visited WHIGG on February 28, 2012.
Prof. Araya delivered two scientific speeches titled: “Developing a compact absolute gravimeter and its observation” and “Broad-band geophysical observation using a laser interferometer”.
The seminar was presided by director ZHONG Min. Academician XU Houze, President SUN Heping and vice President WANG Yong as well as postgraduates attended the seminar.
Prof. Araya gave a detailed introduction about the Japan’s progress of developing the compact absolute gravimeter and laser interferometer, and had an in-depth discussion about the geophysical applications of gravimeter and laser interferometer.
