At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth’s Dynamics, Dr. Zhao Shaorong from the Geoscience Australia visited WHIGG on March 30, 2012.

Dr. Zhao delivered a scientific speech titled: ” Ice-sheets, ocean and earth interaction: ANU models and results”.  Academician Xu Houze, director Sun Heping, deputy director Wang Yong and Xiong Xiong, as well as postgraduates attended the seminar. The seminar was presided by Professor Wang Hansheng.

Dr. Zhao gave a detailed introduction about the calibration of global sea-level change using ANU (Australia National University) glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) model and the improvement for GIA model by geodetic measurements.
