Core Dynamics 2012 was successfully held in Wuhan

Core Dynamics, 2012 was held successfully on May-20 to May-22 in Liyuan Hotel, Wuhan. The conference was sponsored by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth's Dynamics (SKLDEG), Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, CAS, cooperated with Key Laboratory of the Earth's Deep Interior, CAS, and Key Laboratory of the Computational Geodynamics, CAS association. Foreign scientists from USA, France, England, German, Italy, Australia, Russia, Japan and home scientists form Wuhan University, China University of Geoscience and related institute attended the conference.

The international academic board consisted of professor M Monnereau, professor D Yuen, professor VF. Cormier and director SUN Heping. Researcher NI Shidao and professor SUN Wenke and researcher PAN Yongxin were made up of the regional organizing committee. The conference's financial assistance was given by National Natural Science Foundation of China.

There were three invitational papers on the conference: 1.the lateral heterogeneity of earth's inner core: the research meaning of crystallize, melt and different rotational velocity form professor V Cormier; 2.the translation vibration theory simulation of the earth's inner core form professor M Monnereau; 3.the core and mantle edge gravity restraint condition form SUN Heping.

The major research direction of the future core dynamics was discussed and Multidisciplinary and multi observation data were emphasized during the proceedings. The conference enhanced the communication and relationship between the researchers abroad and home and promoted the research of core dynamics deeply in China.
