Prof. WANG Rongjiang from GFZ visits IGG TEXT SIZE:A A A

At the invitation of Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, Chinese academy of Sciences, Prof. WANG Rongjiang visited IGG for a week. He also delivered a scientific speech titled " Towards(near)real-time earthquake source inversion using near-field GPS and strong-motion data- A case study on the 2011 Mw 9.0 Tohoku-Oki earthquake" on June, 21st 2012.

He introduced the usage of geodetic data (e.g., GPS data) and strong earthquake data in the inverse problem of seismic dislocation model. His research interest focuses on how to integrate the strong-motion seismograph data in order to acquire reliable surface shift. He found a good agreement between surface shift results and the high-rate GPS observe results.

During his visit, he discussed with IGG researchers on current research problems and future research hot topics. Students of IGG made many favorable comments on his guidance to them.
