Dr. Holger Steffen from University of Calgary visits IGG
At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth’s Dynamics, Dr. Holger Steffen from University of Calgary visited IGG for five days. He also delivered a scientific speech titled " Observation and simulation of GIA" on June, 21st 2012.
Dr. Steffen introduced the latest research achievements and developments of GIA. Director Sun Heping, relevant IGG researchers and graduate students attended the lecture, and carried out active discussions with Dr. Steffen. They expressed the intention of cooperation, and put forward a concrete plan.
Dr. Steffen, received his Ph.D. in geophysics from the Free University of Berlin in 2006. He has been doing postdoctoral research at the University of Calgary under the guidance of renowned international GIA Professor Hu Baizhuo since 2009. Dr. Steffen’s PhD and postdoctoral research involved studies on glacial isostatic adjustment and mass transport in the Earth.
