Henan Crop Monitoring System with Remote Sensing has been accepted TEXT SIZE:A A A

The project of Henan Crop Monitoring System with Remote Sensing, cooperated by IGG and Institute of Geographical Sciences, Henan Academy of Sciences, has been accepted successfully.

The research group gave a comprehensive report of this project in the assessing meeting. Government officers and experts who participated in this meeting spoke highly of the importance of this crop monitoring system. They suggested that the monitoring of crop pests and drought should be included in the future research. They also expected the bulletins of crop monitoring results could be published regularly to provide valuable information to administrators, agricultural industry and farmers.

The purpose of this project is to promote cooperation of CAS and local administration. Based on multiple data and techniques, this crop monitoring system with remote sensing could provide quantitative monitoring of crop growing process. The agricultural information is available at different scales from province to county. The decision-making of agriculture and crop production in Henan province could both benefit from this running system. As soon as the project was accepted, the directors of this project in IGG and Henan Academy of Sciences both showed great interests in continuing cooperation in the future.
