Professor Peter J.G. Teunissen was awarded the honorary doctorate by Uniservity of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics on 10th november. Present at the meeting were President of UCAS , academician Ding Zhongli, vice president of UCAS, Prof. Wang Ying and academician Houtze Hsu, vice director of IGG Wang Yong, Feng Can, researcher Sun Heping, Yuan Yunbin and Liu Lintao. The meeting was held by vice director of IGG Sidao Ni.
At the meeting, director Sidao Ni introduced Professor Teunissen`s great academic achievement and contributuion, president of UCAS read out the decision of awarding the honorary doctorate to professor Teunissen and issued the degree certificate to him. The vice director Wang Yong and Professor Teunissen also signed the cooperation memorandum. Professor Teunissen reviewed the well-deserved cooperation with Chinese researchers during last two decades and expressed that he was pride to be an honorary doctorate of UCAS.
After that, Professor Teunissen gave an academic report on GNSS fields attracting many researchers and students, Professor Teunissen also mentioned Chinese BeiDou system and its contribution to GNSS.
