Invited by Hubei Key Laboratory for Environment and Disaster Monitoring and Evaluation, Xu Xinjian, chief physician of Institute of Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control, Hubei Provincial Center For Disease Control, and Liu Kequn, senior engineer of Wuhan Regional Climate Center visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics (IGG) and had academic exchanges with related research scholars of IGG on January 22.
Research scholars closely focused on the theme —Environmental Health. Liu Kequn gave an academic report “Snails and meteorological environment”. He had a detailed analysis on the relationship between density of snail and meteorological element. Xu Xinjian gave an academic report “Research progress on the spread of snails”. He introduced biological characteristics and distribute features of snail and the prevention and control of snail. At last, Dr Chi Hong of IGG gave an academic report “Analysis on space-time distribution and environmental elements of cholera in China”. Dr Chi had a detailed introduction on relationship between cholera and related environmental factors in China.
Researchers and graduate students also had a deep discussion about the relationship between environment and survival and diffusion of snails at the end of the report.
