Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth`s Dynamics (SKLGED), associate professor Fan Xilong of Hubei University Of Education visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics (IGG) and gave an academic report “The detection of gravitational waves and multi-messenger astronomy” on March 4th.

During the report, associate professor Fan Xilong introduced the theory and method of detecting gravitational waves. Then he analyzed the wave signal of gravitational waves firstly detected by Laser Interferometer Gravitation Wave Observatory(LIGO).After the report, the audiences and Fan Xilong had a deep discussion about the gravitational waves.
