Associate Professor Dong-Hui Shangguan of The Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute visited IGG TEXT SIZE:A A A

Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth`s Dynamics (SKLGED), associate professor Dong-Hui Shangguan of the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute (CAREERI) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics (IGG) and gave an academic report “Remote Sensing Measurement of Glacial Mass Balance on Tanggula Mountains” on March 28.

During the report, associate professor Dong-Hui Shangguan introduced the current situation of glacier on Tanggula Mountains, methods of monitoring the glacier change (field trips, stereophotogrammetry and InSAR) and mass balance variations on Tanggula Mountains in recent years. After the report, the audiences and Dong-Hui Shangguan had a deep discussion about the new method of monitoring the glacier change and feasibility of field trips.
