IGG got coseismic interferogram of Kumamoto earthquake by using InSAR data of Sentinel-1A satellite TEXT SIZE:A A A

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, a massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 struck Japan’s Kumamoto on April 16th, 2016 at 00:25 a.m. (Beijing Time), with a depth of 10 kilometers.

IGG used radar data provided by the European Space Agency(ESA) Sentinel-1A Satellite to get the coseismic deformation field in LOS(Line-Of-Sight) direction around Kumamoto. The range of surface influence of this earthquake is about 40 km, the largest coseismic deformation is about 50 cm(LOS).
