Professor Fu Guangyu from Institute of Earthquake Science China Earthquake Administration Visited IGG TEXT SIZE:A A A

Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth`s Dynamics (SKLGED), researcher Fu Guangyu from Institute of Earthquake Science China Earthquake Administration visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics(IGG) and gave an academic report "Post-seismic deformation and gravity changes caused by large earthquakes" on March 30.

During the report, professor Fu introduced the characteristic of post-seismic deformation and gravity changes caused by large earthquakes and history of dislocation theory. His report focused on a software that based on viscoelastic sphere dislocation theory. We can compute post-seismic deformation and gravity changes at any time after earthquake by this software. He also introduced the components, specific usage and merits and faults of this software in detail, and it was used to research Sumatra Mw9.1 earthquake and Japan Mw9.0 earthquake. This report attracted more than 50 teachers and students from IGG and Wuhan University. The audiences had a deep discussion with professor Fu at the end of the report.
