Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth’s Dynamics (SKLGED), researcher Ouyang Zhaojun from Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMHE, CAS) visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics(IGG) and gave an academic report in title “Earth surface process numerical simulation software Massflow and its application” on May 19.
The report firstly introduced the principle and calculation advantages of Massflow software. He described the advantages and application areas of Massflow software with some examples, highlighting its application in the landslide disaster. Massflow software simplified the secondary conditions in calculation so that the calculation process is greatly simplified, more suitable for quick results, and for scientific research, engineering analysis. The audiences had a deep discussion with researcher Ouyang about the application of Massflow software and fluid mechanics method to Earthquake Disaster Assessment at the end of the report.
Researcher Ouyang is mainly engaged in dynamic mechanism and numerical simulation of geological hazards such as landslide and debris flow. He independently developed the Massflow software for calculating the dynamic processes of surface disasters.
Researcher Ouyang is giving the report.
