Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth`s Dynamics (SKLGED), professor Liu Qingwen from Shanghai Jiaotong University visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics(IGG) and gave an academic report ”Fiber Optic Sensor Technology and Its Application in Geophysical Research” on September 27.
The report firstly introduced the ultra-high precision, high speed sampling, multi-channel multiplexed fiber grating strain sensor with 10-11 strain measurement resolution. He introduced its working principle, some field observation experiment results, and then introduced the high spatial resolution, high Signal-to-noise ratio distributed fiber acoustic sensor technology, described its technical principles and work characteristics, as well as the latest research progress. After the report, participants discussed the drift of fiber optic sensors, the application of temperature strain measurement in the field of earth science, and so on.
Professor Liu is mainly engaged in high performance fiber optic sensing technology, especially in high precision optical fiber Bragg grating strain sensor technology and distributed fiber optic acoustic sensors. He received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Tianjin University in 2005 and 2007. He received his doctorate from Tokyo university in 2012 in Japan and joined Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2013. He has published more than 70 papers, more than 20 declare invention patents, and has been authorised to 7 invention patents.
