Professor Fang Shiming from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Visited IGG TEXT SIZE:A A A

Invited by State Key Laboratory for Environment and Disaster Monitoring and Evaluation,Hubei, professor Fan from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics(IGG) and gave an academic report on title “General Situation of American National Park System Construction and Its Enlightenment to China” on June 28.

The report provides an overview of the US national park system, an in-depth introduction of several US national parks, including the Yellowstone National Park. And he compared it with the current state of China's national geoparks. He described the pilot situation of China's national park system and the problems encountered in the construction of China's national park system, and he also analyzed its impact on the construction and promotion of the national park system. The report provided new ideas for interdisciplinary research.

Professor Fang Shiming is currently the deputy director of the Department of Land Resources Management of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) . He is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of land use planning, geological park declaration and planning, natural resource utilization and planning, urban green space and spatial layout.
