Prof. Cartwright of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Visits IGG TEXT SIZE:A A A
At the invitation of SUN Heping, director of Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGG), Professor Cartwright, Vice chairman of international association of map, Dr. Bellman, director of Earth Sciences, and Dr.Zhang, director of GPS research center from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia paid a visit to IGG on 29 November 2006.
 
During their visit, Dr. Cartwright gave a basic introduction of the research progress in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Director SUN presented the subject structure and development programming of IGG. Both sides exchanged views in the leading field of international geodesy. They held the conception that there were great advantages in space geodesy, especially in earth gravity field and GPS observation as well as satellite altimetry in IGG. Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology had distinctive experiences in the teaching and applicable fields of GPS precise navigation, remote sensing and geographic information system. Both parties complemented each other's advantages and will surely achieve the goal of win-win.
 
Later, IGG researchers exchanged views with Dr. Cartwright on further cooperation in some fields of mutual interest.
