At the invitation of Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGG), Director GIVI from the Water Resource Management Institute of Georgia paid a visit to IGG on Apr.10.2007.
Professor GIVI was a specialist in the field of water resource management in Georgia. He had distinctive achievement in the combination research of water resource theory and practice, as well as water source management.
During his visit, Prof. GIVI made a presentation entitled “The Forecast of Deformation for Debris Flow Type Riverbeds in the Catchment Basin of The River White Aragvi(Georgia)”. He gave a very detail introduction of the latest research progress in his scientific research field. His presentation covered the general situation of water resource, the harm of water disaster, and erosion modeling,etc. The seminar served as an eye-opener for the researchers to understand the research progress in the area of water source forecast in Georgia.
Later, IGG researchers exchanged views with Prof. GIVI on further cooperation in some fields of mutual interest.
