Chief scientist of GOCE mission R. Rummel visits WHIGG
At the invitation of Key Laboratory of Dynamic and Geodesy (KLDG), chief scientist of GOCE mission, Reinhard Rummel, from the University of Munich, visited WHIGG on October 17, 2011, with Dr. YI Weiyong accompanied.
Reinhard Rummel delivered two scientific speeches titled “GOCE Satellite Gravity Gradiometry Mission” and “Earth Science and Future Satellite Gravimetry Missions”. His excellent knowledge master demeanour and the humorous language deeply impressed all the present people. Dr.Yi Weiyong, researcher JIANG Liming and ZHENG Wei presented the speech “The Earth’s Gravity Field from GOCE”, “Exploiting the Potential of SAR Interferometry for Monitoring Glacial Motion and Permafrost Deformation in Tibetan Plateau”, and “Progress of Satellite Gravity Research in China” separately.
During his visit, there were also some hot discusses among the scientific researchers, and postgraduates of the WHIGG and Reinhard Rummel and YI Weiyong.
