At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth’s Dynamics, Dr. Wang Teng from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) visited WHIGG on Nov. 1st, 2012.
Dr. Wang delivered a scientific speech titled:” Co-seismic displacements measured with SAR images, from 1-D to 2-D by using pixel offsets”. Wang gave a detailed introduction about InSAR techniques and its applications for monitoring the stability of Three Gorges Dam, and for measuring the ground deformation on the neighboring high-landslide-risk areas. He also introduced a new method named PT offset tracking to monitor two-dimensional deformation.
Director of SKLGED, Dr. Ni Sidao, presided the lecture. Dr. Wang discussed a lot with IGG researchers on current hot issues on InSAR research.
