Doctor Guo Junyi from Ohio State University, visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics(IGG) and gave an academic report “On the combination of geocenter data with other space geodetic data for investigating mass changes” on April 24. The director of IGG Sun Heping, vice director Wang yong, researcher Wang Hansheng, Hao Xiaoguang, Liu Genyou, Peng Bibo, Yan Haoming and many students attended the report meeting which was held by researcher Fang Jian.

The report began with the geocentric reference system, using the developmental scientific question to inspire the audiences. Doctor Guo represented different issues which need to notice in different reference system, enumerated lots of related papers and also had a deep-going exchange on how to use geocentric data and geodesy observation to detect the mass change of earth with other researchers.

Doctor Guo Junyi is a famous expert in geophysics, he wrote <<Geophysical Geodesy Principles and Methods>> and <<The Foundation of Geophysics>> which became the set books of student in geodesy and geophysics.
