Researcher Jean-Michel Lemoine from CNES/GRGS visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics (IGG) and gave an academic report Recent progress in gravity field modeling at GRGS on June 27, and the meeting was hold by Researcher Zhong Min.
The report reviewed the progress of Satellite Geodesy, represented the contributions of CHAMP, GRACE and GOCE to Satellite Geodesy and up-to-date achievement of CNES/GRGS on resolving time varying gravitational field using GRACE. He also introduced several cases about working on gravity variation after violent earthquake, ocean mass variation and glacier mass variation using GRACE resolved time varying gravitational field. After the report, the audiences and researcher Lemoine had a deep going discussion about GRACE gravity, precise orbit determination and satellite altimetry.
