Invited by State Key Laboratory of Geodesy and Earth`s Dynamics (SKLGED), doctor Shen Weisen from University of Colorado, visited Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGG, CAS) on June 23. He gave a lecture on Towards a Uniform 3-D Reference Crustal and Uppermost Mantle Model for E. Asia. The seminar was held by researcher Zheng Yong. Present at the meeting were about 20 related researchers and students.
professor Shen introduced how their research group achieves the high-resolution crustal mantle s-wave velocity model in eastern Asia using more than 2000 seismic observation station firstly, than presented the northern China velocity structure estimated by the combined surface wave and receive function. At last, he also talked about the lithosphere velocity structure in Tibet Plateau achieved by adding some complicated crustal structures information.
During the report, doctor Shen had a deep discussion with the audiences.
