Notice of the 19th International Symposium on geodynamics and solid tide TEXT SIZE:A A A

Background and content of the meeting

With the rapid development of modern geodesy, especially the advancement of precision gravity measurement technology, the research in the field of geodynamics and solid earth tides is increasingly deepened. In order to promote the application of modern geodetic surveying in earth science, especially to enhance the communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign colleagues in the field of geodynamics and earth tides, according to the arrangement of international geodetic association, the 19th international symposium on geodynamics and earth tides will be held in Wuhan from June 7 to 11, 2020. This conference will bring together the world's top experts and scholars, is a quadrennial event in this field. Since it was first held in 1949, the conference has become one of the most important international conferences in the field of geodesy.

The conference will be a combination of guest presentations, oral presentations, wall paper presentations and expert discussions. Extensive and in-depth exchanges were conducted in the fields of tidal and non-tidal loads, geodynamics and earthquakes, earth rotation changes, time-varying gravitational field and mass migration, surface deformation monitoring, geoscience instrument development and software development. The conference will provide a high-level information exchange platform for experts, scholars and students in related fields to discuss the frontier scientific issues and industry trends together with international counterparts, to promote the development and application of modern geodesy, and to provide an international platform for displaying the latest research results in this field in China.
