The Conference of Hubei Science and Technology Awards held in Wuchang on February 25. “Process of Hubei Typical Wetland Evolution and Ecological Restoration Technology and Application”, presided by IGG, was awarded the first prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress.

The project carried out series of research for more than 10 years, aiming at human disturbance intensifying to wetland ecosystem, wetland area drop, ecosystem degradation and other issues around typical wetland in Hubei Province, such as Honghu lake and Dajiuhu lake. The stages and processes of typical wetland evolution were analyzed scientifically. The specific measures and scheme of ecological restoration were put forward. Relevant research has got better promotion and application in wetland restoration and protection projects.
